tips for an inclusive future
How to sustainably forecast the future?
Trend forecasting is one of the first steps in collection elaboration. As design professionals, this is an ongoing process. Scouting in trade shows, personal inspiration or with team members. Some bias has entered the practice of trend forecasting or reading the future (as if it wasn’t already hard enough to read the future, I know). Without noticing, forecasting in your organization may contain blind spots and that transforms in unwanted products or non-inclusive future.
This Tedtalk-style presentation offers the revised steps to sustainably forecast the future in design fields. With her expertise in trend forecasting, distinct methodology, years evaluating trend agency practises and trend books, Marie-Michele leads this presentation to highlight the reflexes to modify for a sustainable & inclusive forecasting. To be aware of our own background, practices and fault is the first step towards the future.
After this presentation, attendees will be able to forecast the future in colors and not only that, but be change makers. They will be comfortable with trend bias and establish mechanisms. This presentation is meant for creatives, strategists, design professionals and entrepreneurs.
